1. DO NOT BE LATE… OR LEAVE EARLY
A five minute grace period will be given to everyone; if you exceed that limit you will not be joining that class. Remember being on time means that you are ready to start class, and is not judged by when you walk through the doors. Please note that we go by the time on our main clock and not your watch that’s slow a minute or two. This rule is in place for your safety in joining our warm-ups from the beginning, and also to ensure that the class is not disrupted with late comers. Plan to be there for the full hour. If you are done your WOD early, spend the remainder of the class encouraging the other athletes and if you are in a good mood even help them get their equipment cleared up… after all if they are working out for an extra few minutes than you, they can probably use the help.
2. SIGN UP ONLINE ONLY
Only people who are signed up online are guaranteed a spot in the class. Drop-ins can be denied to partake in class based on several factors. There is a nine hour window before every class to sign up. Knowing who is attending the classes gives the coach a game plan based on several factors to ensure all members get the most out of their hour session.
3. NO KIDS OR PETS
Bars, Plates, Bodies, and Intensity mixed with kids or pets can be a recipe for disaster. Allergies to pets (and some kids, but not yours of course) are quite common so please leave them at home.
4. NO PERFUME, COLOGNE, OR STRONG SCENTS
Although deodorant is strongly advised, please avoid scented sprays of any kind. Allergies are the main issue.
5. MINIMIZE PERSONAL ITEMS IN GYM SPACE
Please leave any extra clothing, gym bags, and personal items in the change room only. Only a Water Bottle, your Journal, and your Keys may be in the gym space with you.
6. WIPE DOWN YOUR EQUIPMENT IF NECESSARY
Blood, Sweat, and Tears are encouraged and a part of what we do in here. However please don’t leave any of your bodily fluids behind on our equipment. Wipe down whatever it is that you were using (if you left a part of yourself behind on it) after the workout with a disinfecting Fit Wipe.
…The Punishable (by Burpees) Commandments
7. DROPPING WEIGHTS IS NOT ALWAYS OK
Our Bumper Plates are made of rubber so we can drop them. However, if you do not have rubber plates on your bar, DO NOT EVER drop your bars. This also applies when putting your bars back into the holder. If you are dropping your bars make sure you have full control of your drop (try to drop from below your waist)… the bars will bounce sideways if you do not control them and will break whatever is in the way. Please drop responsibly.
8. DO NOT SPILL THE CHALK
The ONLY two places for chalk to be found on is 1) your hands or 2) in the chalk bucket. Chalk is not supposed to be on the floors, rubbed on your bars, or rubbed on the bottom of your shoes (yes, this has happened before), or anywhere else. When applying chalk to your hands dust off any extra into the bucket.
9. RETURN ALL OF YOUR EQUIPMENT
When done your workout, return any equipment you have used back to its proper place where you had found it. This includes Bands, Boxes, Bars, Weights in any form, and any others.
10. DO NOT SPILL YOUR WATER
Water is the only drinkable fluid allowed in gym area. Please have your coffee before you workout and your fancy fruity shakes after. Make sure your water has a lid that stays closed at all times you are not drinking out of it. If you have an open water anywhere in the gym and someone else kicks it over… it is still your fault. The last thing you want to worry about mid WOD is dodging someone else’s bottle.
11. SOME WALLS ARE OFF LIMITS
Any stretches or movements including a wall MUST be done on the Red Brick Wall, Garage Doors, or Red Padded walls. All other walls are off limits.
12. DO NOT DROP Kettle Bells
Do Not Drop Kettle Bells.
*Please note that the burpee penalty is to be served by everyone in the class, minus the offender.
